Who we are
Resonate is a healthcare workforce platform operating in Ethiopia. We control the personal information described here.
Bole , Addis Ababa info@resonate.et
The short version
You are a healthcare professional looking for work, or an institution looking to hire. We hold what you tell us so we can match the two.
Institutions see your professional profile. They do not see your salary expectations or your date of birth. Those two protections are built into the platform, not just promised here.
We do not sell your information. We do not show advertising.
What we collect
When you register: your email address, and a password we store only as an irreversible hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and a Google account identifier.
If you are a professional, when you build your profile:
- Your name, gender, date of birth, phone number
- Your profession, specialties, years of experience
- Languages you speak, and where you live and would work
- Your professional licence number
- Shift preferences, availability, and the kind of institution you want
- Your expected salary, and optionally your current salary
- Your CV, certificates, and photograph, if you upload them
- A video introduction, if you record one
- Work history, achievements and career goals, if you provide them
If you use voice onboarding, your recording is sent to a transcription service to convert it to text, and the text is used to draft your profile. You review and confirm the draft before anything is saved.
If you upload a CV, it is read by an AI service (Groq, or Anthropic's Claude) to suggest what to add to your profile: your work history, specialties, skills, languages, education, certificates and licence number. You check and confirm every item before anything is saved, and you can edit or remove any of it later. The AI is instructed never to record your age, gender, family, religion, ethnicity, nationality or health, even if your CV mentions them.
If you are an institution: your organisation's name, address, contact details, business licence, and the roles you publish.
If you are a training provider: your organisation's name, type, city, contact details, licence or registration document, and the opportunities you post.
What you want to learn, if you tell us: the topics you choose, when you plan to study, how you could attend, who would pay and your budget. We also record which opportunities you open, save, mark as interesting or hide, so we can show you better ones.
When you use the platform: the pages you visit, the roles you view, your applications and messages, and technical information such as your IP address and browser. If you arrive through a referral link, we record which one.
When you pay: we record the amount, date and reference. Card and mobile money details are handled by our payment provider, Chapa, and never reach our systems.
What we do with it
- Match you. Everything in your profile feeds the matching that decides which roles you see and where you rank as a candidate.
- Show your profile to institutions, as described below.
- Send you the emails you need — verification codes, password resets, notifications about your applications.
- Build anonymous salary ranges. Your salary figures contribute to aggregate figures for your profession. No individual figure is ever shown.
- Improve the platform, and investigate misuse or fraud.
Who sees what
Institutions can see, for professionals who apply to them: name, photograph, profession, specialties, experience, languages, location, shift preferences, availability, licence number, certificates, CV, video introduction, and the match score with its reasoning.
Institutions cannot see: your expected salary, your current salary, or your email address and phone number — unless you share them in a conversation or answer "Interested" to an invitation.
Institutions can narrow candidate lists by gender and by age range. They see your age, never your date of birth. Your gender and age never change your match score.
Partners who referred you see counts only — how many people registered and subscribed through their link, and aggregate breakdowns by profession and region. They never see who you are. Groups smaller than ten are withheld entirely, because in a small group a count can identify a person.
Training providers (training centers, universities and similar organisations) see totals only: how many professionals looked at, were interested in or saved each of their posts, and in future, how many want to learn a topic, with groups smaller than ten withheld. They see who you are only if you press "Contact me about this" on one of their opportunities. That button says what it shares, and pressing it shares it with that provider only. If you turn off "Let verified training providers invite me and contact me in one tap" in your learning interests, we ask you to confirm first. They then receive your name, phone, email, profession, city and years of experience, and may use them only to tell you about that opportunity.
Other professionals never see your profile.
We share with:
- Chapa, our payment provider, to process payments.
- Resend, our email provider, to deliver email.
- Groq, to transcribe voice recordings if you use voice onboarding.
- Groq or Anthropic, to read your CV and suggest profile details, if you upload a CV.
- Cloudflare R2, where uploaded files are stored.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your information to anyone.
How institutions can find you
To help you get hired, verified institutions on Resonate can search for professionals who match the roles they are filling. In these searches they see only your first name and the first letter of your last name, your profession, specialty, years of experience, city, gender, age, availability, whether you have uploaded a licence, and how well you match. They never see your phone number, email, photograph or salary expectation in search.
If an institution is interested, it can invite you to apply. Your full name, phone number and email are shared with that institution only if you answer "Interested". If you answer "Not interested", nothing is shared.
You can hide yourself from these searches at any time: open Invitations and turn off Visible to hospitals. You can still apply to jobs yourself while hidden.
Where it's stored
On servers operated by Neon and Render, and files with Cloudflare R2. These are outside Ethiopia. By using Resonate you consent to your information being stored and processed there.
How long we keep it
- While your account is open, we keep your profile.
- If you close your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days.
- Applications you have made remain visible to the institution you applied to, but with your identifying details removed. We keep the record that an application was received, because an institution's hiring history is theirs.
- Payment records are kept as long as Ethiopian tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can:
- See what we hold — most of it is on your profile page.
- Correct it — edit your profile at any time.
- Hide from candidate search — turn off Visible to hospitals on your Invitations page.
- Be asked before sharing with training providers — turn off one-tap contact in your learning interests on the Opportunities page.
- Delete your account — email info@resonate.et and we will do it within 30 days.
- Stop marketing email — unsubscribe from any of it. You will still receive verification codes and notifications about your applications, because they are part of the service.
