Terms of Service

Resonate

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Before you read

These Terms describe what Resonate does, what it doesn't, and what each of us

is responsible for. They are written to be understood, not to be impressive.

REVIEW NEEDED — these are a draft. They describe how the platform

actually works, but they have legal effect in Ethiopia and should be reviewed

by a lawyer familiar with Ethiopian employment, consumer and data protection

law before publication. Sections marked contain assumptions that need your

confirmation.

1. What Resonate is

Resonate is a workforce platform connecting healthcare professionals with

healthcare institutions in Ethiopia. We operate at

resonate.et and through related applications.

We introduce. We do not employ, and we do not recruit on anyone's behalf.

  • We are not an employer, an employment agency acting for either party, or a

party to any employment contract you enter into.

  • We do not guarantee that any professional will find work, or that any

institution will find a candidate.

  • We do not verify that an institution's job posting is accurate, that a role

exists, or that any offered terms will be honoured.

  • We do not verify professional credentials beyond checking that a document has

been uploaded. An institution should satisfy itself of any candidate's

qualifications before hiring.

Any employment relationship, contract, salary, or dispute is between the

professional and the institution. Resonate is not part of it.

2. Who may use Resonate

You must be at least 18 years old.

Accounts are for one person or one institution. You are responsible for keeping

your password secure and for everything done under your account. Tell us at

once if you believe someone else has access.

You must give accurate information. A profile that misstates qualifications,

experience or licences harms the institution reading it and every honest

professional competing against it.

3. What we do with the information you give us

This is covered in full in our Privacy Policy, but the essentials belong here

too, because they are the substance of what you are agreeing to.

If you are a professional:

  • Institutions can see your profile — your profession, experience, languages,

location, shift preferences, licences and certificates, and any video

introduction you record.

  • Institutions cannot see your expected or current salary. Salary

information is used only to match you with roles that pay what you are

looking for, and to build anonymous salary ranges.

  • Institutions can narrow candidate lists by gender and age range. They see your age, never your date of birth. Gender and age play no part in your match score.
  • An institution only sees your full profile if you apply to their role, or if

they find you through candidate search.

If you are an institution:

  • Your published roles are visible to professionals.
  • Your business licence is reviewed by us for verification and is not shown to

professionals.

If you are a training provider (a training center, university, college,

scholarship provider, association or NGO):

  • Your organisation's name, city and the opportunities you post are visible to

professionals.

  • Your licence or registration document is reviewed by us for verification and

is not shown to professionals.

  • You see totals for your posts (how many looked, were interested or saved).

You see a professional's name, phone, email, profession, city and experience

only if they press "Contact me about this" on one of your posts, which

shares them with you for that opportunity.

4. Stars and hiring credits

Professionals buy stars to apply to roles. Institutions buy **hiring

credits** to publish them.

  • Stars and hiring credits are platform credit. They are not money, cannot be

exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts.

  • Purchases are final and non-refundable, except where we have charged

you in error or the law requires otherwise.

  • Prices may change. Any change applies to future purchases, not to credit you

already hold.

  • Spending a star on an application does not entitle you to a response. An

institution may decline, or not reply at all.

  • Stars earned through referrals are subject to the same terms as purchased

stars, and may be withdrawn if we find a referral was not genuine.

5. Referrals and partners

Professionals can earn stars by referring colleagues. Partners can earn

commission under a separate written agreement.

  • A referral is credited when the person referred makes their first purchase.

Signing up alone earns nothing.

  • Creating accounts to refer yourself, or arranging referrals that do not

represent real people choosing to join, is fraud. We will withdraw any credit

earned that way and may close the account.

  • Partners earn a commission on the first payment made by each institution

they bring to Resonate, once per institution, at the rate set in their

partner agreement. It becomes payable 7 days after the payment, and is reversed if that payment is

refunded or the referral was not genuine.

  • Partner agreements are set out separately. Where they differ from these

Terms, the agreement governs.

6. Training providers

Training centers, universities, colleges, scholarship providers, associations,

NGOs and similar organisations can post courses, trainings, events, programs,

scholarships and other opportunities for healthcare professionals.

  • Posting is free during this period. If we introduce fees or a commission

on enrolments made through Resonate, we will tell you before they apply to

you, and you can stop posting at any time.

  • You must be authorised to represent the organisation, and the

organisation must hold any licence or registration its activities require.

We verify your organisation from the document you upload. Until we do, your

posts are not shown.

  • What you post must be accurate: the title, dates, fee, location,

accreditation and certificate offered. If something changes, update it.

  • We may take any post down, or remove your verification, if it is

inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or harms professionals. We will tell you

why.

  • Professionals' details are shared with you for one purpose: to tell them

about the opportunity they asked about. You may not sell them, share them, add

them to unrelated marketing, or keep contacting someone who has said they are

not interested.

  • The course is yours. Any registration, payment, teaching, certificate or

refund is between you and the professional, unless they paid through Resonate,

in which case the terms shown at payment also apply.

7. What you must not do

  • Post false information about yourself, your qualifications, or your

institution.

  • Apply on someone else's behalf, or let someone else use your account.
  • Contact professionals for anything other than a genuine role.
  • Collect data from the platform by automated means — scraping, harvesting, or

bulk extraction of profiles.

  • Use anything you find here for any purpose other than hiring or finding work.
  • Attempt to interfere with the platform's operation or security.

An institution that obtains a professional's contact details through Resonate

may use them for that hiring conversation and nothing else. A training provider

may use them only to tell that professional about the opportunity they asked

about.

8. Suspending or closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that we

reasonably believe is fraudulent, or where the law requires it. Where we can,

we will tell you why.

You may close your account by emailing info@resonate.et. We will delete

your personal information within 30 days, subject to what the Privacy Policy

says about records we must keep.

Closing an account does not refund unused stars or credits.

9. What we are and are not responsible for

We will run the platform with reasonable care. But:

  • We do not guarantee availability. The service may be unavailable for

maintenance, technical failure, or reasons beyond our control.

  • We do not guarantee outcomes. No job, no hire, no interview, no reply.
  • We are not responsible for what happens between you and the other party.

This includes any employment contract, working conditions, non-payment of

wages, dismissal, misconduct, or dispute of any kind.

  • We are not responsible for information users provide about themselves.

Match scores are computed from what people tell us. An institution should

verify anything that matters before hiring.

To the extent Ethiopian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or

consequential loss, lost earnings, lost business, or lost opportunity arising

from your use of Resonate.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Our content and yours

The platform, its design, code and matching system are ours.

What you upload — your profile, CV, certificates, video introduction, job

postings — remains yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the

users described in sections 3 and 6, and process it to operate the platform. That

permission ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for

what we must retain.

11. Changes

We may change these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email to the

address on your account. Continuing to use Resonate after a change means you

accept it.

12. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of

Ethiopia, and Ethiopian courts have jurisdiction.
